Ulysses Plaque
A scene from the legend of the sirens. Ulysses resists the bewitching song of the sirens by having his ship's crew tie him up. The Classical Greeks understood the Sirens as creatures associated with hidden knowledge. Ulysses is willing to pay a price for knowledge which drives him to hear the Sirens' song despite the pain he must endure while being tied up to the mast of his ship.
