Egyptian Paper Rush
Cyperus Papyrus
Cyperus Papyrus is a leafless reed-like perennial plant that needs plenty of room to spread. Papyrus does best with afternoon shade and morning sun, but tolerates full, all-day sun as long as it's never allowed to dry out. This plant thrives in consistently moist soils, it can also be planted in standing water upto 150mm deep. Paper Reed is highly versatile and therefore makes a great addition to water gardens, boggy areas, containers, shallow waters or pond margins. Cyperus Papyrus is the plant used by the Egyptians to make paper.
