Golden Japanese Sweet Flag (Acorus Gramineus 'Ogon')
Description
Acorus Gramineus 'Ogon'
The Golden Japanese Sweet Flag is a reliable and versatile option for water or rain gardens, pond margins, boggy areas, and as a ground cover. The leaves of Acorus gramineus resemble flattened fans like those of irises and are laregly inconspicuous. This plant adds color and consistency to the front of mixed plantings, is great for either ground planting or planting in containers, and can act as a fantastic ground cover between pavers in a location where adequate moisture is assured. Ogon boasts a gold and green variegation in its grass-like leaves and enjoys full sun, though afternoon shade is appreciated in summer climates. Sweet flag does not tolerate dry soils, but besides ensuring the soil is constantly moist it is a generally low maintenance plant.
